Chinese New Year is coming! Left with another 1 week, 3 days. Preparing your New Year tibits for me to go your house to bai nan? Haha! Just kidding! I won't be in Singapore. Going to Grandparents house. All this tibits bought by Jas to put in the office. My favourite one is prawn roll. What about yours? Will post up what tibits I have at home tomorrow! Today is the best & luckiest day if you want your bank account to grow more and more money. Today, in Lunar Calendar is what we call the 立春 (Li Chun). Go deposit some money, maybe $10 will do and it will surely bring your more money this year. It's the best day for those workaholic!

    What is Li Chun?

Many people might know know this day, actually our Lunar New Year will start on Li Chun or Lunar New Year will only be consider as Officially Arrives only after Li Chun.

Li Chun is a day to mark the start of a New Lunar Year and also the Arrival of the Spring Season.

How to know when is Li Chun?

According to the Ancient Calculation, Li Chun will be within 49 days after Dong Zhi or +/- 9 days from Lunar New Year (Except for special Lunar Calendar Year)

In Solar Calendar, usually Li Chun will fall within 3rd, 4th or 5th of every February.

For this year (2010), it falls on 4 Feb, Thursday, it starts at 06 44 hrs.

What are the events that will happen on Li Chun?

In the past, on Li Chun, Emperor would led the officers of the Imperial Court to the Eastern Field to usher the Spring or Deity of Spring, this represent the Spring Deity was there to perform his task, etc.

As for commoners, they would visit Temples to pay respect to Deities for blessing for the New Year.

For the modern days now, due to work, education, etc, a lot of such Traditional Dates/Festivals are being forgotten. This is indeed a pity sad thing.

Besides the above mention events, Li Chun is also a day to uher in Lord Tai Sui of the New Lunar Year.

For those who are being affected by the Confliction of Lord Tai Sui, Oneself or the Family can visit Old Temples with Proper Altar set-up dedicating to Lord Tai Sui to pay their respect. After the paying respect to Lord Tai Sui, verything will be fine and if Oneself is Sincere & Upright, the year will usually turn out Good & Peaceful.
